ProTrain’s Turn-Key Online Classes for Continuing Education and Corporate and Military Training Programs Now Available through Augusoft Lumens

Augusoft announced the availability of ProTrain’s turn-key online classes through Lumens. Students can now self-register online for ProTrain’s entire catalog of 700+ online classes seamlessly through the interface established in Lumens. This interface provides program staff with the flexibility to choose which ProTrain classes to import into the Lumens online catalog. Augusoft Lumens customers who already partner with ProTrain may now upload these classes, indicate a retail price, and then have these classes display on their Lumens site.


Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System Completes Training and First Stage of Augusoft Lumens® Implementation

Augusoft has completed training for all the customized and continuing education programs throughout the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system as part of its Lumens Campus Adoption Program (LCAP).

In July 2010, MnSCU selected Lumens, a web-hosted enrollment management system, to offer online self-registration and additional management capabilities to run all its non-credit continuing education and career training programs throughout the system. To date, 17 of the 31 MnSCU institutions (including five pilot schools that previously implemented Lumens) have currently implemented Lumens. The remaining schools are scheduled to complete implementation by January of 2012.


Increasing Online Registrations and Delivering Data Driven Results

Metro Continuing Education (Metro), the continuing education unit of Edmonton Public Schools, one of the largest school districts in Canada implemented Learning Resources Network (LERN) best practices and Augusoft Lumens to improve their continuing education operation.

With grants secured, colleges are ready to roll out training

Community colleges that will receive a share of the $500 million in federal funds are ready to put their plans in motion.

With a flood of interest from local and national media from an economic development perspective, many of the community colleges set to receive funding through the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career and Training (TAACCCT) grant program are providing details on their plans, which range from providing basic education to using distance education to ensure persistence in learning.
